Call to Order:
Louis Rosbottom called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm.

Minutes: Apryl McClurg
§ Apryl presented the December minutes.
§ Sharon Rosbottom made a motion to accept the minutes as presented.
§ Floyd Frieszell seconded the motion.
§ Motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer's Report: Renee Schoettle
§ Renee presented the Treasurer’s Report.
§ The report shows breakdown of athletes and coaches membership.
§ Tax returns have been completed – State non-profit complete.
§ Mark Mundy made a motion to accept the report as presented.
§ Joe Lybarger seconded the motion.
Old Business:
Folkstyle State Finals Tournament Committee Report
§ Hotel room list is in circulation.
§ Regional weigh in sites are lined up – Joe Lybarger
§ Copper Clinic will be held at Ben Davis High School on Sunday, March 9th – Todd Eppert
§ Security – Todd Eppert
§ Patt VanHorn will communicate with Ben Davis about their club helping out in various areas.
§ Tournament meeting was held at noon on this day – discussed all upcoming state tournaments.
Camp and Housing (Cadet & Junior Nationals)
§ Reservations need to be made with hotel in Fargo – Chris Lynch and John Schattner.
Cadet/Junior Folkstyle National Trip
§ April 4-6, 2008
§ Need to find out if hotels still have availability – Tom Dolly has compiled a list of 20 hotels in the area.
§ Jeff McClurg reported that Danny Struck and Kyle Fellure have volunteered to make this trip in team leader and/or coach capacity.
§ Taking a 47 passenger bus (32 athletes, team leaders and 4 coaches).
John Hurrle Award
§ Mike Dowden reported that only 10% of members responded with a ballot (poor participation).
§ Paul Green will be the recipient of the award this year.
§ Jake Harreld suggested changing the voting process: Mike Dowden will head the committee with Jake Harreld, Apryl McClurg and John Schattner as committee members.
§ Mark Mundy suggested including a guideline for choosing nominees-difficult from a club member’s perspective to nominate candidates. Maybe create a slate of candidates with a “write in” opportunity.
§ A list was circulated for those who would like to attend the banquet when the award is presented.
§ Louis Rosbottom to check with John Schattner to present award.
Departure and Return Location for National Trips--Buses
§ Apryl McClurg has arranged for Beech Grove High School parking lot to be used for national trips again this year.
New Business:
USA Wrestling Request
§ USA Wrestling has requested that the ISWA release all emails of members to them.
§ Jeff McClurg made a motion not to allow this information to go outside our organization.
§ Bill Nicely seconded the motion.
§ Motion opened for discussion.
§ There is an expectation from our athletes to keep private information private. We will continue to forward USA Wrestling information to our clubs and post it on our website, but we will not release email addresses.
§ The motion passed unanimously.
Welcome
§ The ISWA welcomed Michelle Kastner who has volunteered to assist Linda Robinson with hospitality.
Directors Reports
§ Vice Chair of Administration – Tom Dolly
o Sports Medicine – Isaac Hook
§ Regional weigh-in organizers need to email their regional weigh-in athletic trainer information to Isaac so that he can educate all athletic trainers on the skin check guidelines to be used.
§ Asked for approval to order supplies and Louis Rosbottom requested that Isaac purchase necessary insurance.
o Membership Director – Trina Dowden
§ Reported 1482 athletes, 406 coaches, 124 clubs, and 80 sanctioned events to date for 2008.
§ Six accounts have been sent to collection. The Greenwood Club has sent in 11 checks to resolve their debt.
§ Reminder that the PayPal receipt, for on-line membership card purchases, is accepted at tournament registration for 14 days only. Athletes should then use their actual ISWA card.
o Director of Services – Sharon Dowden
§ There are extra copies of the publication in the storage area.
§ A $100 donation has been sent to Hammond Morton Wrestling to help them replace items lost in the fire.
§ A card has been mailed to Tyler Shook who is fighting cancer, and Bill Nicely is sending a shirt.
§ There is a marshall arts club asking to become a club
o Registration Director – Joe Lybarger
§ Working on preparing for Kids Folkstyle State at Ben Davis: 14 chairs, 5 tables, and volunteers for registration will be needed.
§ Regional Site weigh-in packets should be available at the next board meeting (Feb 3rd)
§ Also looking for volunteers to work awards.
o Law & Legislation Director – Lana Pendoski
§ Not Present. No Report.
o Tournament Statistics Director – Carol Schroeder
§ Working on files received from Karen Miller. Louis Rosbottom has more files at his home.
§ Looking for the program used to keep track of registered wrestlers.
o Transportation Director – John Schattner
§ Not present.
§ Still needing hotel information for Fargo and Folkstyle Nationals.
o Equipment Director – Bill Nicely
§ New board shirts were distributed.
§ Jim’s Wrestling Supply also sent a donation to Hammond Morton Wrestling.
§ Working on volunteer shirt with a 30 year celebration logo (brown and blue) and Middle School Dual uniforms
§ Sharon inquired about Folkstyle National shirts for Indiana participants – 200 shirts.
§ Jeff McClurg asked what is included in the Cadet/Junior Folkstyle Trip package: 1 shirt, 1 singlet, 1 pr of shorts, registration fee, hotel, and transportation. Athletes will have to purchase their own meals.
o Hospitality Director – Linda Robinson
§ Linda gathered information needed for the upcoming tournaments concerning hospitality: 14 mats at Ben Davis, 18 mats at Huntington. No Friday night meal at Huntington. Only feed Indiana coaches, officials, and tournament help at Schoolboy Duals.

§ Has completed draft for clinic at Ben Davis on Sunday, March 9th.
§ Mark will be filling Floyd Frieszell’s role at Kids Folkstyle State and is working with Floyd on tournament preparation.

§ Contacted Bryce Hasseman and Keith Sieracki for Junior/Cadet Camp Clinician
§ Will get a clinician for Women’s Franklin Camp…suggestion of Eric Kriebel (Katie Downing’s coach).
§ Letters have been sent to college coaches in search of Fargo volunteers (Wabash has responded and Danny has spoken to the Manchester coach).
§ Ed Wojdyla will run the first Copper Clinic.
§ Danny’s research indicates that a weight training certification program will be very expensive.
§ Work with RTC’s the week before Greco State-will work with Rex Peckinpaugh.
§ Held coaches meeting prior to board meeting: have planned number of coaches needed for each trip…..good start on upcoming trips.
