How To Avoid Failing a Skin Check

1.         SHOWER - immediately after wrestling practices or meets.

2.         WASH - your wrestling practice clothes regularly (daily is preferred).

3.         SPRAY - your skin with a product such as KS skin protectant before wrestling.

4.         WALK - on wrestling mat only with wrestling shoes (not the shoes you wear outdoors).

5.         TREAT - the skin infection at the earliest sign of occurrence.

6.         SEEK - the help of a dermatologist if the skin infection does not clear soon.

7.         WRESTLE - only if you are free from skin infections or are able to have them covered.

8.         WATCH - for signs of skin infection frequently (have someone check areas you can’t see).

9.         LEARN - how to protect yourself.

10.       RESPECT - those performing the skin checks at meets, they are there to ensure the safety of all wrestlers.
