Team Indiana 14U/SB Duals

The mission of this tourney is to provide a low cost opportunity for individuals to get the widest possible exposure to national caliber competition prior to the individual Kids, Cadet, and Junior National Championships through National Dual Championships. We will provide an opportunity for maximum competition, exposure to National Team Training through Regional training sites, and the experience of being a National Team member competing for your home state!

EARN A SPOT ON TEAM INDIANA

Wrestlers earn a spot on one of the teams by placing in the top two of the Indiana USA Freestyle and/or Greco-Roman State Championships.  The Freestyle champion will represent Team Indiana in Freestyle on the Gold Team and Freestyle runner-up will be the representative on the Blue Team. The Greco-Roman champion will represent Team Indiana in Greco-Roman on the Gold Team and Greco-Roman runner-up will be the representative on the Blue Team.  Any coach that is interested in being part of the coaching staff should apply by clicking the coaching registration link below.

COST OF TRIP

The cost of the trip is $275 per wrestler, for one or both styles.  This will cover 2 day team camp, lodging during camp, two Team Indiana singlets (red/blue), 1 pair of Team Indiana fight shorts, 1 Team Indiana t-shirt, 1 Team Indiana jacket, Team Indiana gear bag, entry fee, and team picture.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

All Schoolboy Dual Team Members are encouraged to attend the Central Regional Tournament in Ada, Ohio on May 25th. Dual Team Members are also encouraged to attend the Kids Nationals in Wisconsin Dells, WI June 28-30.  Attending Central Regionals is a pre-requisite to attending the Kids Nationals.  There is a possibility to obtain a waiver from the state chair if wrestlers are unable to attend Central Regionals or another regional.

Training camp will be held June 11-12 at Warren Central High School, 9500 E. 16th Street, Indianapolis IN. Wrestlers must report to camp between 12:30 – 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 11th. Participants will be responsible for arranging their own transportation to camp.  Wrestlers will remain at camp until 5:00 pm on Wednesday evening at which time they will be released back to their parents for the remainder of the tournament. Housing and food will NOT be provided during the event.  Parents will be responsible for the athlete’s travel arrangements to Warren Central High School in Indianapolis in time to register and weigh-in for the event.

Greco-Roman competition will be held on Thursday & Friday, June 13-14, and Freestyle competition will be Saturday & Sunday, June 15-16, at Warren Central High School. Weigh-ins will be Wednesday, June 6th, from 7:30 pm - 7:50 pm. Note: Wrestlers participating in both Greco and Freestyle will only weigh-in once.

REGISTRATION

All wrestlers that qualify for this event will be given information at the state finals awards area. You will have 7 days commit to team, complete registration and submit payment.  The only way to register will be through the online link contained in the information provided at the state tournament. This is ONLY for Schoolboy wrestlers that placed first or second in either the Greco-Roman or Freestyle State Championship.

TEAM INDIANA X

This is a unique opportunity for Indiana wrestlers to gain national wrestling experience and compete against some of the best 14U/Schoolboy wrestlers from across the country. As a member of Team Indiana X wrestlers will get all of the Team Indiana gear, participate in the Team Indiana camp, and get exhibition matches against competitors from throughout the country. There is also the possibility that Team X wrestlers will fill in on a Gold or Blue roster in the event of an injury to a wrestler on one of those teams. Unfortunately we do not know how many extra wrestlers other teams will bring; therefore we cannot guarantee a certain number of matches for members of Team Indiana X. Cost $225.
